چکیده
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the outcome and mortality predictors of SARS-CoV-2 infection requiring hospitalization among elderly population. Methods: In this retrospective study, hospitalized people with virologically confirmed were evaluated. Participants divided into three groups mild, moderate, severe based on oxygenation. The primary was death or discharge home. Results: A total 169 patients studied (mean age: 68 years). Apart from respiratory symptoms, other reported symptoms included gastrointestinal complaints in 11% (n = 19), acute stroke 1.1% 2), delirium 1.7% 3), anosmia ageusia 8.88% 15). Also, 65 (38.5%) required oxygen support, 25 (14.7%) admitted intensive care unit (ICU), 7 (4.1%) non-invasive ventilation (Fio2 0.6 1.0), 14 (8.28%) mechanically ventilated. 72 (42%) received steroid, 100 (59%) prophylactic heparin. Overall 12.4% 21). Gender had no effect (P 0.83). Presence ≥ 3 risk factors, elevated neutrophil lymphocyte ratio, D-dimer, lactate dehydrogenase, associated 0.001, P 0.0005, 0.05, respectively). Sepsis cardiovascular events higher those who died. Conclusions: We observed a low treated steroids compared studies done pre-steroid period. Elevated NLR, LDH, D-dimer mortality.

Short-term clinical outcomes and mortality of coronary endarterectomy in the right coronary artery: A single-center experience
Introduction: Coronary endarterectomy is not a perfect procedure. However, it is sometimes the only available alternative for cardiac surgeons in patients suffering from diffuse coronary artery disease. According to a large volume of studies, coronary endarterectomy results (such as survival, recurrence of the symptoms of myocardial ischemia, and graft patency) are not as satisfactory as standa...

متن کاملWhat We Know of the Prognostic Value of Lymphopenia in SARS-CoV-2 Infection
Background: Although by comparing the number of deaths to the total number of cases one may conclude that most of the infected cases are recovering, taking a look at the increasing statistics of deaths shows that SARS-CoV-2 continues to take its toll. Since lymphocytes are the main immune cells battling with rapidly evolving viruses, it comes as no surprise to assume that a decreased number of ...
